Step 1 — Enter Your Trade Details Start by filling in your core trade inputs in the main calculator: Risk Amount — Enter either a dollar amount you're willing to risk, or switch to percentage mode and enter your account size along with the % you want to risk Entry Price — The price you plan to enter the trade Stop Loss — The price where you'll exit if the trade goes against you Target — Choose how you want to set your profit target using the toggle: Target Price — Enter a specific price where you plan to take gains R-Multiple — Enter a multiple of your risk instead (e.g. 2R means your target is set to 2x your risk amount) Max Capital — The maximum dollar amount you're willing to put into this position Once your inputs are filled in, the calculator instantly calculates your position size, number of shares, risk/reward ratio, and total position cost — all in real time. Step 2 — Review Your Results After entering your numbers, the results update automatically: Shares — The exact number of shares to buy based on your risk and stop distance Position Cost — The total dollar value of your position Risk/Reward (R:R) — How much you make vs. how much you risk (e.g. 2:1 means $2 gained for every $1 risked) Profit at Target — Your expected dollar gain if the trade hits your target Actual Risk — The exact dollar amount at risk based on your shares and stop distance Cap Hit — An indicator showing how close your position cost is to your Max Capital limit. If your position exceeds your cap, an alert will appear so you can adjust accordingly Step 3 — R-Multiple Calculator (Optional) The R-Multiple Calculator lets you instantly find price targets based on multiples of your risk. Access it from the menu under R-Multiple. Choose your mode using the toggle at the top: Initial Position — Calculates R-Multiple targets based on your original entry, stop, and share count only. Use this when you have not added to your position and want to see where 1R, 2R, 3R, etc. lands based on your starter trade Full Position — Calculates R-Multiple targets based on your combined position including all entries from Add to Position. This accounts for your average cost and total shares across all entries, giving you a more accurate target when you've scaled into the trade across multiple price levels How to use it: Select Initial Position or Full Position depending on what you want to calculate against Tap the 1R, 2R, 3R, 4R, or 5R buttons to instantly see the target price at each R level Use the Custom R Multiple input if you want to calculate a specific level like 1.5R or 2.5R The calculator displays the exact target price and projected dollar profit at each R level Step 4 — Add to Position (Optional) If you plan to scale into your trade across multiple entries, tap Add to Position from the menu. You can add multiple entry points, each with their own price, quantity, and stop. The calculator automatically updates your average cost and total exposure across all entries. Use the Dollar or Shares toggle to enter quantities in whichever format you prefer. Step 5 — Scale Out (Optional) If you plan to take profits at multiple price levels rather than all at once, use the Scale Out section. Enter each exit price and the number of shares you plan to sell at that level. Choose FIFO (First In, First Out) or LIFO (Last In, First Out) depending on your exit method Switch between Initial Position and Full Position mode depending on whether you're scaling out of your starter position or your full combined position The calculator shows your realized profits at each exit level. Step 6 — Add Trade Notes (Optional) Use the Notes section to type your trade thesis, key levels to watch, catalyst, or any reminders about the trade. Your notes will be included when you export your trade plan. Step 7 — Download Your Trade Plan When your plan is ready, go to Download Trade Plan from the menu. Enter your ticker symbol (e.g. AAPL, TSLA, SPY) and choose your export format: PDF — A clean printable trade plan document CSV — A spreadsheet-friendly format for logging your trades Excel — A formatted spreadsheet version of your trade plan Your ticker symbol will automatically be used as the file name (e.g. AAPL-TradePlan.pdf). Step 8 — Reset for the Next Trade When you're ready to plan your next trade, hit the Reset button at the top right. This clears all inputs and results so you can start fresh with a clean slate.
